the other thing to note is that since servotronic is just an
electronic black box, it is very possible that servotronic can be
"silently" upgraded in successive years.  i.e. the original cars may
have release 1.0 which is horrid.. and by 1994 they could be at say,
release 1.3 with much more pleasant characteristics.

hmmm, some of you should consider making aftermarket servotronic
chips.. maybe have servotronic take its speed readings from the
boost level rather than the abs sensors... :) :) :)

and the shadier guys will just sell an on-off switch... :) :) :)

i know that when my v8's slushbox control unit was replaced, the
software was a zillion times better than the old one in terms of
making shifting decisions.
