  Dave,

Thanks for responding to my note.
My wife & I own a small (three techs & myself) VW/Audi independent
shop on Cape Cod, Ma. I just got this TQC two weeks ago after following
Quattro Club newsletters for about six months. The former owner gave me
this BB number.
The Audi owners have been an outstanding clientele as well as fun
people to socialize with. And I see the TQC as a way to extend that
relationship.
We built an 86 GTI with a G60 drivetrain & engine management, NS
upgrades to about 190 HP, paint, wheels, guages, etc for the VW people but
nobody else in the area really seemed to want to play. SO....here we are
in UR-Quattro_ville, address somewhere in Cyberspace.
About the car...it's titled 1983 with a production date of 3/82,
97000 miles, bought it from the second owner who bought it in 1990 w/ 57000
miles. The original color was metalic gold but it's been painted Mars Red.
VIN WAUDC0855DA900284. The interior is dark brown leather.
The last owner had trouble finding a competent repair facility, so in
spite of spending in the neighborhood of $400 a month on the car it's in
kind of mediocre mechanical condition. eg the trans and differential plugs
were frozen in and probably hadn't been out since the first owner had it.
I replaced the fuse box and most of the electrical gremlins
disappeared, but the radiator fan had been wired on full time and I need to
know how that circuit goes. The fuse box and much of the wiring is the
same as late 70's rabbit, just more.
Any and all info you can provide will be appreciated and I'll try &
reciprocate. BTW, how do you 'play around' with the PROM? I have a chip
programmer but can't make heads or tails out of the pages of binary goulash
that are on them. Also, is your mechanic getting his info from a cd rom
database? We have Bently and the VWA m'fiche.
