according to various rags, the RS2 is running 2.4 bars of boost.  (1 + 1.4)
vs 2.1 for the S4.

porsche took over the turbo installation and such, and according to CAR
also re-introduced massive turbo lag that was virtually eliminated with
the S4 (not to be confused with the overboost lag)

an audi 6 speed gearbox is used but strengthened.  just to show how
bulletproof it is, the entire 4wd drivetrain withstood an acceleration
run that they did where they launched the car with 7000 rpm on the tach..
i.e. 7K rpm, let the clutch catch and vrooom..  0-60 4.8 secs.

max torque of 302 lb ft is at 3000 rpm.  it is dammed fast for sure
but i dunno if i like the big turbo lag as the price to pay.. i much
prefer the near instant response of the 20v turbos..
