You're a lucky guy.  You don't have to disembowel your dashboard or even
yourself to kill that light like some of us do!  Just open the hood and
find the speedometer cable which runs up into the dash in front of the
driver.  Near the wipers there is a box which the cable runs into & out of.
  Use a key or similar to press the little white button on the box...or...
yank the electrical plug.  50k is ok for most sensors but the longer they
stay in place the harder they are to remove.
