Re: Car selection
YES!!YES!!!YES!!!! Andrew... MY choice IS door # weird! The car that EC
won't even mention in its tech letters. A FINE(test tube baby)marriage of
German parts(carp(sorry)crap)and good old US ingenuity(idle minds)assembled
here in America(frankencar).
Actually, it's waiting for a slow day so it can be painted. My wife's
Jetta engine(from the Jetta son #1 totaled for us) installed in a pretty
straight scirocco that somehow survived a series of youthful owners!
The GTI is another frankencar, about 200 hp, billows of smoke off 205
15's.....in 2nd gear. Should be automatic w/ manual shift valve body &
Halltech engine management.
Everything else is pretty generic, but the Suburban(assault vehicle) has
been a remarkable ride..188,000 miles, many trailers to Fla, many horse
trailers to shows, never had the timing cover or valve covers off!! No
transmission or u-joint trouble...still gets 18mpg on the highway... didn't
start using Mobil 1 until about 130000 mi. The paint s*cks though, fell
off about '91!
Would you know Kevin Chambers at Digital? We had a little party here on
Labor Day & my alignment guy got into the Goldschlager(sp?)....then he
proceeded to eat chocolate mouse out of the serving bowl with the serving
spoon. I was having fun...but havn't seen Kevin since! Say hi if you know
him. He's a great guy!
