"remanufactured" V8 front rotors
Well, I've finally conceded that I'll have to replace the warped front
rotors on my `91 V8 5 speed myself. I have 77,000 miles, and a fight
with Audi proved fruitless.
Anyhow, I found a place in Boston that sells "remanufactured" front rotors
(these are the infamous ATE internal caliper monsters) for $250 each, much
less than the $530 list for new ones. The question is, how can I be sure
that these would be the "upgraded" front rotors that don't warp. I'm a
little apprehensive about buying them, even with the price difference. The
sales rep assures me that they are the latest, but I'm still not sure.
Any advice?
The place is Clair International--they advertise in Hemmings.
I haven't tried Carlsen because I lost the number, if anybody has read this
far, would you please send me the number?
Thanks.
