Flashing temp light on 87 4000csq

Have you checked the coolant level in the expansion tank? My '85 GT exhibits
this same behavior whenever the level drops almost enough to trigger the
switch, but not quite. Then whenever I take fast turns (fast enough to cause
the coolant to "move" towards one side), the switch is tripped and I get the
flashing. Was your coolant temperature gauge reading high?
Just check the coolant, I'm sure that this will be the problem.
You don't have voltage, oil pressure, and oil temperature gauges in the
quattro, do you? I'd really miss those, as I used them quite a bit to
"diagnose" some problems with my engine (like when my oil temp is suddenly
running at 160 degrees C, I know something is wrong).
>...headlights are dim...
Yep, me too. And my father's Coupe. The collective new-wisdom have devised
many a method of improving the stock system. As for me, I can live with it
as is (mainly because I can't afford to upgrade it :-).
