Hi Shannon,
I have an 89 100 also.... Check for vacuum leaks before you
start replacing components. My car didn't idle well and would
stutter and not move until it ran for at least 2 minutes or so.
It turned out to be the seal on the dipstick... sounds kinda
stupid but true. There is a little rubber seal on the dipstick
make sure it fits tight. If it's loose, you can try auto parts
stores for the little rubber grommet, I tried the dealer(no grommet
but we`ll sell you a new dipstick for.."I don't want to know...." and
walked out...), 3 auto parts places, 2 hardware stores.... and ended
up at the local small engine as in lawn mower, snow blower place who
had a box of different size rubber grommets. 75cents later my car now
starts on the first try every time, idles perfect(for a 5 cylinder :-)),
and moves of the line cold with no problems..... YMMV....
