As the other owner of an '89 100Q (besides Mike LaRosa and you), listen
to Mike about the idle problems. A quick way to sort-of check the IS
valve is to squeeze the hose that leads backward from it. If a light
touch craps the engine out, it may be a bad (or clogged) valve. A
clogged valve can be cleaned by removing, dousing 42,177 times in
cleaner, drying and replacing.
As for the ABS, it is not likely the brake fluid. It may be a slightly
loose wheel sensor. These are the black things the size of a 1/2" pencil
stub attached to the back of each brake hub assembly. If they wiggle at
all, they are loose. Also, check all the wires from them.
A new ABS sensor is about $250.
