Distributyor Rotor

OK, I'm an idiot.  I can't get the distributor
rotor off my 1991 90Q 20V.

As you may know, this is sort of hard to get at-
buried under the speed control plumbing.

Once the cap is removed, a rotor should be simple -
pull firmly, and voila!  But NO, this won;t go.  I've
pried, pulled, etc.

Any tricks?  And once off, with what shoudl I coat the
new rotor?  Anti-seize compound?  Teflon spray?
