Looking for some more power

Is it the same huge thing as the ur-quattro, where you seem to have to 
disconnect the fuel injection system (which is mounted on top of the filter 
housing)?  No wonder they're supposed to be "long life".

I changed mine a few weeks back.  It took me an hour, and I'm a fairly 
competent mechanic.  They were originally supposed to be changed every 20,000 
miles, but the dealer I spoke to said they changed them either every 40,000 
miles (on cars they serviced regularly) or "on request".  He whistled when he 
saw the one I'd taken out.

When I got the replacement filter, it named about twenty vehicles for which it 
was intended - all diesels.  No mention of quattros.  Fits a treat.
