I recently put Red Line oil in the tranny/diffs on my '83 ur-Q.  I found 
two drain plugs, one under the gearbox and another under the center diff.  
I would recommend warming up the engine/transmission before draining the 
old lubricant.  The recommendation to check that the fill plug can be 
removed before removing the drain plug is a very good one.  I had a tough 
time getting the fill plug out of the rear diff.
