RE: more on batteries

The 5000Q does this in the summer (and sometimes in the winter after a long
drive). I also don't use the 5000Q as much as the 4000. The 5000Q sometimes
only gets driven a few times a week. I bought a charger several years ago in
case one of the cars wouldn't start in the morning and have used it a few
times.

I've never used it to top off the battery. Do you do this regularly, like once
a week or once a month?

those engines which feature engine-off radiator fan-on cooling is
going to be harder on batteries than those who don't. my corrado g60
does this after a drive in high ambient temperatures, and it sucks
juice very rapidly, because everytime it does this i plug in a charger
and watch the ammeter needle swing up to the red zone. in my case, the
$25 charger that i bought has come in real handy to keep the batteries
of both cars constantly topped up. i'm sure it will pay itself off
in the long run in terms of extended battery life.
