Dan, The head requires only the hogging of a well versed VW race shop... the
10v head is basically the same casting philosophy of the vw 8v, i.e. it does
not suck ar well... Basically, the route to go is a straight port to the
valves (vs a restrictive curve in the stock casting). The valves need only a
competition cut (I used a 5 angle), because the sodium valves are about
$80/valve not including the seat mods, so I stayed away from that idea. I
did the polishing myself with a dremel setup, with the fullest oif intentions
to do the Extrud hone process next spring. With the 272 schrick cam the head
definitely breathes better, I'm looking seriously about cracking the intake
for some porting there too... The name of the game, is to do the porting b4
the EH process. have you done the IA mod yet?
