Don't have the IA mod - have the ABT instead. This consists of a modified
computer akin to those provided by Ned Ritchie, but instead of a stiffer
wastegate spring, there is a hose which applies manifold pressure via a
regulator valve to the back side of the wastgate diaphram, so that you can
vary the point at which the wastegate opens from inside the cockpit.
I just got my head back from Fumio Fukaya Enterprises - ever here of them?
They're sopposedly big in the VW community. Anyway, I went with a bump of
1mm on both intake and exhaust valves, as well as a full polish all around
and a port on the intake. I also bought the 272 Schrick cam. I'm going
to abandon the stock turbo in favor of the one they're putting onto the
Porche tuned Audi RS2's. Can you think of anything else I should do
before I put it all back together? I was thinking maybe I should have the
exhaust manifold extrude honed, but have heard a lot of negative things
about the extrude honning process; what do you know about it? BTW, the
car is an '83 TQC.
