In my Quantum, it seems that the time it takes to unlock depends partly on the 
road surface.  If I can, I unlock the diff(s) just before I'm out of the slick 
stuff, and they seem to unlock faster.

I also sometimes get a delayed response from the center diff after the light 
indicates that it's unlocked.  A few seconds after the light goes out, I'll 
hear/feel kind of a clunk from the center.
