Re[2]: Vent in Battery

******************************** EXCERPT ********************************

?Under? the battery? Sounds like a leaky battery! I'd carefully "wash"
it all away! (use baking soda and water to neutralize the acidic mess,
will "bubble merrily away" until no more acid left), flush with *lots* of
nice fresh clean water! Of course this is an under-the-seat battery-well,
right? Ha! Have fun!

Suggestion: The vent hose gets outside through the bottom of the battery
box. You might be able to remove the vent hose &/or grommet to provide a
drain for the effluent from the flushing process. I would recommend that
this flush be done ASAP. I doubt that there is much more than a single
sheet of stamped metal keeping the battery in the car!
