Sorry to hear about the accident, but glad to hear everyone is OK.
I would say your 4000 had to be worth around $4500-5000 AT LEAST.
I'm not sure of market value, but I've been scanning prices for a
while 'just in case' and that seems about right.
If you email your geographic location, I'm sure someone can help
find a car for you. Colorado and Washington seem to be the place
where all the quattros end up (why?).
If anyone is interested, the local dealer has a 1986 Coupe, non quattro,
it's black with tan leather and 5spd, 60k miles or so and one owner,
all records (so they claim). They are asking around $6000 for it.
