Call GPR (German Parts and Restoration in CA at 1-800-321-5432
I picked up a set of BOGE ProGas for my 87 4000S and they work great.
They also sell Koni, etc. I would highly recommend the ProGas for a
street driver. They aren't too rough for the commute, but are very firm
when the speed picks up. If you like the Bilsteins, stick with them, but
I had to put in my opinion.

I have dealt with Shokan on a number of occasions and found them to be
excellent for used parts. If you are wondering, check the parts_vendors
list on the majordomo@swiss.ans.net server. It is a list of, you guessed
it, parts vendors, to deal with and some that you should NOT deal with.
Send a mail message to majordomo with the line, in the body of the
message, not the subject line, of: get quattro parts_vendors and it will
e-mail you the list. You can also receive the index by requesting the
get quattro index command in the same way. Mail me if you have any problems.
