That is certainly what I have experienced. I put an exhaust system from
Eurorace on my '85 GT over a year ago. It consisted of a larger diameter
pipe from the catalytic converter, to a Walker Dynomax that sits in the
general vicinity of the middle resonator, and then another pipe that
goes over the axle to the dual tips sticking out from the bumper.
I have noticed quite a reduction in low-end torque (around 2K-3K rpm).
However, where the engine really didn't pull well when revving above 4K,
now it pulls strongly until well over 5K (I don't test it very much over
5K, but that 4k+ difference is definitely nice). The engine seems to have
converted that low-end torque into high-end power. I always enjoy
driving my Dad's '81 coupe (110hp engine), because he still has the
original muffler style and his engine feels quite different.
