YMMV

In this context, of course, YMMV stands for "Yikes! My Money's VAG's."

After lashing out 350 GBP at the dealer for a new exhaust, and some
other minor stuff, I sat down and worked out what I'd actually spent on the
  Audi.

    Purchase price (Aug 93) 1200
    New tyres 200
    Exhaust, etc 350
    Rear shocks 80
    Front disks & pads 50
Other stuff (oil, filters, belts, 220
    plugs, brake bits, etc)

    Total 2100

If the car exploded tomorrow, that would work out at 117 GBP a month. If you
look at the purchase plans for a new small hatchback, than you're making that
sort of monthly payment after coming up with an initial deposit.

And at only 115K miles, the Audi's got a lot of life in it yet. Bargain, if
  you ask me.
