Phil, if the handles are the same on the 4k series, I think I know. On a
parts car that I recently acquired (84 4ks), the rear door handles stuck
just as you mentioned. When I finally needed one for my driver, I found
that the ones on the '84 had a very thick grease on the springs of the
trigger. I bathed the handle in WD40 and they work fine now. To access
them, pry off(*gently*) the little alum. plate that goes on the handle on
the outside. There are 2 screws there to be removed. Another locates
the handle and is accessible from the door jam. It is recessed in the
jam, and covered by a little rubber plug. Remove the plug, insert a
MAGNETIC scerwdriver and remove. If you don't use a magnetic one, you
*will* lose the screw into the door panel. The handle just lifts out.
The rears are not nearly as difficult as the front because there is no
lock/key cylinder in them.
