Big Grin.

Today I went and visited Ned Ritchie in Olympia. He took me for a ride in
his daughter's 4000S Quattro (bright red, BTW). He really hasn't done much
to it, but what he has done made it fun. He put in a Schrick cam, greater
than a 272 and that car really pulled from about 4.5k up. At about 5k the
sound of the engine really changed. We were doing 85+ up this back road
really quick, oh and he could stop that car too. He has put in some German
pads, and they brought that car back down to zero really quickly,
impressive. He wasn't too hot on Repco Metal Masters though. The
suspension in the car was stock, and it felt very good. He had no special
exhaust on it, just your standard rusting kind.

He did suggest that when it comes time to put on an exhaust, put on a
stainless one. He also suggested a suspension setup, but I forgot the
name. I was trying to soak this all up, and stuff was bound to get lost in
my mind.

So, what I need to know is how much are these Scrick cams, either the 268
or 272?

How difficult is this to install?

Would it be best to do this when I change the timing belt?

I am going to write him a letter and see if I can get him to write down all
the stuff tha I forgot.

I was smiling all the way home from there. Now I just need some cash. He
is also a very nice guy.
