I would have to say that it's a classic case of "A few idiots ruin things
for the rest of us". Next time you pass that rusted out
(insert car/truck) with one dim tailight, no insurance, and a fat drunken
toothless redneck, thank him/her.
This is something I have been thinking about. I don't really like the
idea of annual emission inspections, or any other government meddling for
that matter, but if we could just get the absolute JUNK off the road to
make way for safe, well maintained vehicles, it would certainly reduce
the amount of accidents, etc.
I propose: an SCCA-style safety inspection, in which one has the brakes,
and other mechanical inspected for effectiveness. Also, more driver
training, but I'm already dreaming.
