Sounds very possible to me. A sticky cold-start valve would cause the
engine to run rich all of the time, which would "load up" the plugs and
possibly, if it's bad enough, cause excess fuel to leak past the rings
and into the crankcase.(re: fuel in the oil) It would have to be pretty
effin bad though...
