Steve, If you get a chance, check out the interior of the hub, where it
houses the sealed bearing. If it's not scored or blued from excessive heat, I
can't think why it should be replaced. The bearings are available for about
$34, and are cheap to experiment with compared to buying a hub right away!
The old bearings are destroyed when they're pressed out of the hub, so if the
new one presses in securely; it should be OK.
