If you can believe a near FOAF story.

My brother John plays volleyball with a Washington State Patrol detective.
John, who's an afficianado of speed and all things fast, asked him about
Bill Gates' and Paul Allen's 959s. When asked what would happen to Bill's
car _if_ they found it, the detective replied "crush it".

It was said that Bill (and perhaps Paul) brought it (them) over in a
plane carrying containers of software from Germany. I've heard that Paul
Allen's was released so that it could be raced (or run at a track) but
could not be licensed in any state unless full federalization occurred.
They had one at the Seattle Auto Show a couple of years ago, maybe it
was Paul's.

The detective also claimed that the person who initially reported a 959
zooming around the area was a Microsoft employee. I guess he didn't get
enough stock options.

too bad...
