Come on. A Lotus four is one of the most sophisticated engines in the
world, and it makes a lovely zing zing noise. Same with the Saab: it may
not be smooth compared to a six, but the noise of the turbo at idle, low
speed and full chant is a delight, the waste gate chatter is just superb.
