there's nothing impressive about the lotus four banger other than bhp and
bhp/liter.  lotus stuck to a 4 because they were too poor to put in
anything else.  ditto saab until they were bought up by GM.   the 1950's
triumph (?) farm tractor engine still lives on till this day.  ugh!

the balance shaft saab 4 (which i have driven) is still no match in terms
of sweetness to a good 6.  the porker big 4 may have some of the big
vibes cancelled out, but it still make 4 banger sounds..
