Re: Externally Adjustable Shocks for '86 Coupe GT

I had the same problem with my TQC last year, when I couldn't find any
externally adjustable shocks for it (I had the Konis, and I hated them).
What I ended up doing was calling Tokiko, and sending them the external
dimensions of the Konis, and the rates of the springs I was using. It
turns out that the Tokikos they make for the rear of a Toyota MR2 are a
pretty close fit (for the TQC, at least, which uses the same sized shock
front and rear).
So, I ordered four of them, and with a little work in the machine shop,
managed to get them in with little trouble (had to put more thread on the
top of the piston, and machine some "washers" for the bottom so they
would sit at the right height).
They work great!
