  AUDI IN THE NEWS

  Audi's counter strike....., AW Apr 10, 95, pg 9
    Audi plans to counter the new MB E-class and the upcoming BMW
  5-series by adding two new 5-valve engines to the A6 lineup. At the
  entry level, the 125-Hp, 20-V, 1.8-L 4 from the A4 will replace the
  older 115-Hp, 16-V 2L 4.
    At the top end, a 193-Hp, 30-V, 2.8L V6 will replace the current
  174-Hp, 24-V, 2.8L V6.

  And a fast break.....
    Audi is also helping to heat up the wagon wars. Audi will counter
  Volvo's 850 T-5R with a wagon version of its hot S6 sedan. This pits
  Volvo's 240-Hp turbo 5-cylinder against Audi's 227-Hp turbo 5-cylinder,
  though Audi no doubt will stress the S6's all-wheel-drive. The Audi
  debuts later this month at the NY Auto Show.....

    While Ford puts the finishuing touches on its Euro minivan built
  with VW, plans are afoot to export the Windstar to selected Euro
  markets.....

  EX-PORSCHE BOSS DIES
    Dr. Ernst Fuhrmann, who headed Porsche from '71-'80 died Feb 6th
  at age 76 i his home in Austria....often hailed as a genius in
  engine design and manufacture.....contributed directly to the four-cam
  engines for the Spyder and Carrera models in the '50s.....also left his
  stamp on the 924 and 928.
