Re: Thermal Coatings

Still the theory holds that weather you trap from the outside or the inside,
that trapped heat will find its way to pieces parts you may not want it to
find.... like a glowing turbo in daylight.... I know from race experience
that the theory works extremely well, I'd just be very careful what parts you
do and look seriously at the oil sump system in addition to the wc of the
early k26..... That glow indicates to me a serious potential for coking on
the bearings of the turbo, and we all hope that when those little crystals
come off, that that oil filter catches em all!!!!! I might consider a vent
thru the hood, I know several non turbo cars have them available as crash
parts...... The heat out is a BIG concern when the car is not moving.....
And no amount of thermal work will eliminate that..... Thermal coating
works for a running/moving car, the basic theory is that the exhaust carries
the heat out to the tailpipe, I think from your post that is not the object
of the game for you....
