Re: Mist Info TAP
Interesting info, but the instructions on the adj of boost only applies to
the early tcq, the spring perch is NOT ADJUSTABLE WHATSOEVER IN THE MANNER
DESCRIBED on the 86> 5t or 200t q or non q, if you want the knowlege on those
mods, I have it available.... Interesting that 14 psi is the max TAP allows,
the computer and parameters can exceed that on the 86-88 5ktq, and varies
from the 83-85tcq, 86-88 5ktq the 895ktq and the 10 and 20v turbo 200 apps,
so a post lumping them all together with 14psi makes another question....
These Wastegate instructions posted ONLY apply to the 83-84 tqc, but these
instructions do not apply to the newer cars, and he shouldn't have posted it
as such, another question..... Question the 14psi numbers cuz they indicate
other limitations in the upgrade...... The computer is capable of handling
in excess of 2.3bar on some apps in it's modified parameter form, but other
parameters need to be addressed, another question....... And guage readings
are not accurate at the dash, anyone agrees who has looked hard, but it can
be used as a fairly accurate indication of boost (guage vs computer), he is
really addressing the lag between the computer read and the dash read......
Information from a tech is a interesting thought, but I certainly appreciate
the fact that he feels his way is the correct one.... I have opinions sure,
hopefully didn't express them anymore than trevor... Just the facts, sir
And a few questions for the tinkerers to ponder for sure
