One point I wanted to make about this but forgot: why would you want to rev
the engine past the limiter anyway? In both my '85 4000 and '87 5000 (4cyl
and 5cyl, respectively), there isn't much power up there, just noise, and I
only buzz the motor when I'm trying to save a shift on an autocross course.
With a modified engine, of course, all bets are off but with a stock one, I
think you'd be better off just changing up to the next gear between 58-6000
rpm...
