86 Audi GT starting problem (fwd)



I'm forwarding this note to the list to see if someone can help Kevin with
his car problem. His original note and my response to him is attached.

Kevin,
	The first thought that comes to mind is that the car may
be getting flooded since you mentioned that it started after you
opened the airbox (more air to dilute the rich mixture). I would
suspect the cold start injection system, which might be over injecting
fuel in cold engine situations or continuing to inject during
warm starts when it should not. I have personally not had this
problem on my Audi so I can't give any advice based on first-hand
experience. I'll forward it to the quattro list to see if others
can help more. You are on the quattro list already, right?
