Good bye to the net....
This is my last day on the quattro net and unfortunately, I'm going to hav
e to unsubscribe at the end of the day. I am leaving school for the summer and
am returning to Atlanta. I do not have an e-mail address at my home there, so
I will, most likely, be unable to resubscribe there. Tomorow will be my last d
ay at this address. I *will* be back again this fall to resume my position as
an active member of the quattro net, so no worries!
I just wanted everyone to know that I really appreciated being a part of th
is list. It's a great way to find out technical, or non-technical information
about Audis, and especially quattros. The amount of information available thro
ugh a list such as ours is amazing! When I first joined I was overwhelmed by t
he amount of activity on this list. I'd get 50, or so messages a day.
I don't want to bore you with a long farewell speech, think of it as an exte
nded leave of abscence, but there are a few people I want to thank in particula
r. Steve Bucholtz, thanks, you were the first person I talked to on the net a
nd you were the one who taught me how the net worked and put my fears to rest.
Bob D'Amato, we had a lot of interesting conversations.
Chad Clark, we've become good friends through this net and I'm going up to
Colorado to visit him this summer, and go to the QCUSA event at Second Creek r
aceway. We've also had a lot of intersting conversations and e-mail eachother
almost every day.
Lee Levit, for letting us no that ovloV drivers are real people too.
AUDI-DUDI, thanks for all the technical advice and your opinions.
PDQSHIP, thanks for all your technical advice also, and your vast knowledg
e in turbos and turbo motors.
And to anyone reading this message, I want to thank all of you.
I will miss all of you on this net (tear, sniff) and we've been able to conv
ersate from all corners of the globe (UK, Taiwan, etc) and express our enthusia
sm and experience with Audis to others. Through this list, it's almost as if w
e're one big happy family. We just heard of Michael Larosa becomeing a father-
congrats! I've learned so much about these cars through this list and I just w
anted to take a minute or two of your time to thank you all (y'all)! I'll be l
ooking forward to resubscribing to this list when I return to school this fall,
but for now I'm saying good bye.
Later,
Dan
