Havvn't seen a blocked wastegate tube but I have seen a torn wastegate
diaphragm...same result, you over boost.

Don't know about other URQ's, but on mine this should turn off the fuel
pump by opening the safety switch in the wastegate tube at about 1.1 bar at
which time your face is planted in the steering wheel.

I think there might be 2 other limp home triggers...the idle switch
remaining electrically closed under acceleration and the distributor being
out of adjustment.
