Glen, you logic is right the premise is not...  Taking the cat as its own
entity vs a straightpipe you are better with the insert.....  To extend that
to the rest of the exh is not.....  A proper muffler will create some draw
which will offset (and in some cases a big way) the advantages of no muffler
at all.....  So, given the same dia. exh, you should be using a hiperf
muffler, but testing the stock muffler with the stock dia pipe, the audi has
a pretty hiperf muffler already on the car...  So, your gains are minimal
unless you incr dia of pipe, and it must be mandrel bent.....
