yup, those 35 more ponies make you easily trounce most other quattros on
the road. They are 35 well placed horsepower, with one helluva top end.

not at all, I get better economy on my 20VQ than I did on my 4000sq and
my wifes 10V q

Now here's an understatement. But the good thing about that is that there
is so little you can do to that engine to gain any performance, there is
no reason to open the hood. A guy at my dealer owns a 90 90Q 20V, he has
in excess of 300K miles on it. He only opens the hood to change the oil.
There are some gotcha's though, you 'cant' just go to the dealer and get
a cap and rotor. Oh no, they make you buy the whole friggin distributer
because the rotor is bonded to the shaft. Of course you can bust it off
and fit on a 10V one just fine. Someone mentioned brakes, if you have
the twin piston calipers, then you have the coupe quattro brakes, very
rare on the 20V 90, it was hit or miss, you couldnt order the car with
it. If it has it, then the brakes are readily available, if single
piston, then its a special rotor that ONLY fits that car!!! and its ONLY
a dealer thing, (but I think that is changing) Other than that, parts
are not more expensive than the 10V counterpart, only head specific items
are the real difference, the beauty part of these things, is that the
'88-92 80 and 90Q's use the same mechanicals, I justs put a new A/C
compressor in my 20V out of an '89 80Q. Although the 20V had some
suspension updates in '91, mmost parts will still work for either.

20V has a much cooler interior, including a much better compliment of
factory gauges.

the 10V is not interference, but the 20V is. By the same token, the
dealer and the book, NEVER recommend changing the belt on the 20V. yeah,
Like I will trust it over 100K. (although the guy with 300K on his,
never changed it!!!!)
