damn bumps!

On my 90Q 20v, whenever I go over a good size bump, it seems to handle it 
fine, but if I go over the same bump under reasonably hard braking, it 
sounds really painful! Almost like the strut bottoms out and is ready to 
go through my hood. 

Anyone experience this? Is it time for me to invest in some struts?!
