I is hard to magine that water would ruin those ECUs, the case protects
them from a "hosing" and a small drip may cause it to go flaky for
a short time, but if you let it dry out, say overnight, it should
start working again.

Perhaps it is something else, water in the distributor cap...

I had seen postings where a suggested price fo $75 to $100 for these
from some junkyards, try PAP, SHokan, look at the back of European Car
if you get it, there are some other addresses and phone #s there.
