Put in TWO relays, ( or one dual relay ) fused of course, and use the
wires that normally drive the headlamps to drive the relays.

The auto-check circuit only looks for burnt out lamps by comparing
the currents in each leg. so it will not complain. However, if you lose
a headlamp, it will not warn you either.

You should get a good half volt or so extra on the headlamps, and it
makes a noticable difference.
