Welcome to Pro Rally in the States!
SCCA Pro Rally is a very well kept secret, and
has been called the "Secret Sport" by Autoweek.
Most (all?) Pro Rally events in the States are sanctioned
by SCCA. SCCA events are run by a largely volunteer
organization. Most SCCA events are what they call
"non-spectator" events. Controlling and monitoring the
large area that is required for a Pro Rally is an amazing
logistical nightmare. The event organizers usually want
little publicity and no spectators, to minimize risks to
spectators, liability and insurance expenses. The best
way to "spectate" at a SCCA Pro Rally is to work as an
SCCA Course Worker or other position. This gets you
the best possible "seats", right on the course! I strongly
suggest that anyone seriously interested in spectating
at SCCA Pro Rallies contact the SCCA about becoming
Course Workers, etc.
