'84 5kS ?'s
Just got back from a visit to Colorado and my girlfriends new home (also came
back to 400 E-mail messages which I haven't read yet.) She has my old '84 5kS
out there with her. This car has lived and breathed at sea-level in Maryland
for all eleven years and two hundred thousand miles of it's life, and now it's
finding itself at a mile and a quarter above sea level (Boulder.) The car
idled at 950 when she left Maryland, and when I visited out there last week the
thing was idling at around 600 (the idle stabilization is disconnected due to a
bad relay and the lack of motivation to dump $300 into the car.) I bumped up
the idle to about 900 again, but is there anything else that should be done to
the car? I can't remember if there is a proceedure for going to high-altitude
that she should have done to it or not. The car seemed a little slugish
compared to what I remember it being, but then again I'm used to my Stage II
TQ, so it could be my imagination. The car runs great still, but is there a
high altitude adjustment that should be performed on it? TIA for any
suggestins!
