Stalling after cold starting?
Hi gang,
Any idea on this one. My 92 100S Audi seems to be fuel starved (or
something of that sort) when starting the car after sitting for a couple
hours. It starts fine, but the second I give it some gas the engine acts
like it not getting fuel and the rpm's drop below 700rpm. If I keep my
foot on the gas it sometimes chugs along before going up to 2500 rpm. If I
stomp on the petal, the engine reacts and the rpm shoot up be it not very
smoothly. The car didn't act this way when I bought it a month ago, now it
of course acting up more than a week ago. I've used Shell, 76 and now
Chevron super and fuel injector cleaner but no cigar. I have a feeling
it's has something to do with cold start mechanism shutting off when I
touch the gas petal. Anyone else have ideas or should I bring it in to the
shop?
Thanks!
Wes
