Info Request on Quattro Coupes >=1990

I was at my local Audi dealer and they had a 1990 Quattro Coupe for sale for 
$15K which didn't seem that cheap.  Does anyone know the last year the model 
was imported into the U.S. and the refinements in subsequent model years?

Ideally I'd love to buy the European R2 Coupe.  Has anyone heard about 
Audi's plans to import any Audi coupe into the U.S. again?  My stomach turns 
at the thought of getting a BMW, but Audi may not be giving me a choice. 

If there's interest from those in the club in buying an Audi imported coupe 
(not the convertible), let me know.  I'll put a letter together with 
everyone's name and send it to Audi.
