Audi cleared to race!!
To all,
Several weeks ago, Audi Sport was charged that the racing A4's were
over the allowable width as compared to the street cars. Change in
production cars over a set time was the explanation given as the
homologation rules allow. Audi Sport chief Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich has
said "Changes in production procedures can result in cars being
slightly different" FIA, the governing body of motorsport, will issue
a statement. Ullrich added" Our racing cars were never as wide as the
maximum stated in the papers, A4 current production width is 1733mm
and the alleged was stated as 1753mm. I think the whole problem has
been caused by a manufacturer looking for a reason to hide its own
poor results.
I wonder who he was taken a shot at there. maybe BMW?????? Audi leads
comfortably in both the Italian Touring and the German Super Touring
Car series.
