To answer your question first "electronic year was mid 1984 and these
additional electronics were't so bad or complex.

As you know on my own example AUDI GT Coupe is in general very reliable car
(mine has 220Kmi now) and any year you can afford will give great pleasusre and
drivign satisfaction. Actually in '87 Audi increased compression ratio in
Coupes, so that they accelerate much better than in previous years.
