100 to V8 convesion

Has anyone attempted to install the V8's driveline & suspension in a
standard 100 body?
I read with interest the availability of v8's for $15k in the states. Over
here they are still fetching $50k +, nearly 3 times the price of a 100 of
the same year.

Assuming that the conversion can be done, how much is a  complete v8 which
has been written off likely to sell for?/Am I likely to find one?
