CV joint boot repair

Car: 1986 Audi 4000 CS Quattro
Problem: CV joint boot is torn

Well, the job I love to hate is here again. I've done this SO many
times, I'm not expecting any problems. But, since this is the first time
with THIS car, I thought I would see if anyone has any comments.

Basically, I've done this job (front outer joint) many times on a 1982&
1983 Audi 4000s, but this will be the first time on my Q. Are the joints
the same in that you just need to tap it apart? Or does it have the
circlip which holds the two parts together? I know on the '82 & '83, it
did not. But, when I purchased a joint from a junkyard, that one did.
Although I don't *think* it will make the job much more difficult,
knowing if it does or not will help. (Since I didn't know about the one I
got used, I spent WAY too much time trying to get the stupid thing apart!)
